Vicky’s wedding ceremony and reception were held in The Judge’s Lodgings in Lincoln’s Bailgate. A lovely venue for an intimate gathering of close friends and family.

The light blue and ivory theme was carried through all designs with ivory gerberas and blue Nigella being the focus flowers.

Added into the ceremony table long and low were stallion chrysants, gyp and eucalyptus, ruscus and pistach foliage.

A bay tree was placed either side the table to frame the window area.

The chair covers and bows were once again supplied by the wonderful Emma at Elegant Touches and I supplied an ivory gerbera with a diamante pin to place in the bows.

The Wedding breakfast was in the dining room and the guests sat around a U shaped table. (The chairs would be brought across after the service while photos were being taken)

The flower decorations were kept low with these gorgeous small candelabras with ivory taper candles. The displays were once again gerberas, Nigella and gyp with mixed foliage. The ceremony flower display would also be brought through and sit on the top table.

Vicky initially met me at The Bailgate wedding faye where it was lovely to chat to her about her upcoming wedding being held in The Judge’s Lodgings where I had my stand.

Vicky’s colour scheme was ivory and light blue and she wanted to incorporate these colours in to her flowers at the end of June (2014)

Bride's hand tie posy of gerberas, Nigella and gyp

She liked Gerberas and we teamed these up with lovely light blue Nigella and gyp. As the Nigella has quite a bit of foliage nothing else was added to the bouquets except diamante.

A handful of diamante were added to the centre of each gerbera .

The stems were wrapped in an aspidistra leaf and over bound with ivory shoelace ribbon to hold.

The two bridesmaids each carried a similar but smaller version but without the diamante.

On Wednesday I went over to Cleatham Hall to dress this gorgeous venue with flowers. This is the second time I have done this and this time we went for a garden/summer/country theme.

The steps were drapped in foliage garlands with bottles (provided by Cleatham Hall) with stems of Sweet Williams.

Louise had chosen pink and ivory as her colour theme and wanted lilies as her main flower. Looking through my portfolio she came across this style of bouquet and loved it. Keeping it simple with just stargazer lilies, ivory roses with ivy and bear grass.

Stargazer lily with ivory roses, ivy and an added horseshoeClose up of the brides bouquet, lilies and roses

Louise then asked if it would be possible to add in a horseshoe? She had had two shoes off her horse chromed and wanted to add them in somewhere in her flowers. I added one in her bouquet by attaching it to satin ribbon and hanging it amongst the trail of the bouquet.

The maid of honor was her sister, which I attached the second horseshoe to her bouquet.

This was an overarm design of white calla lilies laid on an aspidistra leaf and bear grass.

This was slightly more difficult to add to as the stems were quite thin but with ribbon and pins I achieved what I was asked to do.

The other 4 bridesmaids each carried a similar overarm design of calla lilies.

The 2 flower girls each carried a small wicker basket with pink ribbon covered handle and bows filled with pink and ivory rose petals.

The gentlemen of the wedding party each wore a single ivory rose with gyp and ivy, with a small version for the page boy.

The ceremony and reception were held at Charlotte House Hotel where the service was held in the orangery.

I provided the ceremony table display. A mix of pink stargazer lilies, roses, carnations and gerberas with a few ivory roses and srigs of gyp.

The 6 guest tables were each named after the variety of flower used. Louise left it to me but requested pink flowers and only 5 or 6 stems of each flower. The designs were made so the flowers could be kept/given away and the hired vases returned to me.

Emma was married at St John’s Church, Washingborough.

We continued her colour theme of Plum, pink and ivory into the designs and added more scented flowers (which I like to do for churches)

The Blueberry roses are a fabulous colour and these match well with the carnations and peonies.

Emma requested two traditional pedestals on the church steps where the couple would say their vows, These include peonies, roses, eustoma, alstroemeria and chrysants.

Emma and her mum met me at a wedding fayre I had attended at Belton House and booked a consultation with me.

Emma had quite clear ideas on what she wanted but was open to ideas from my portfolio and which flowers would work best with her colour scheme.

She wanted a shower bouquet and loved a design I had previously made of roses, sweet peas and eustoma.  Was this possible in her plum, pink and ivory colour scheme, yes!!

These roses are called Blueberry and are a stunning colour, teamed with pale pink sweet peas and the ivory eustoma and it really shows the colour up. Bear grass adds to the volume and length of the design without adding to the weight.

Emma’s three bridesmaids carried a hand tie design in the same flowers and colours as the bridal bouquet with added thalaspi foliage.

Have you ever wondered what it is like behind those large doors at The Guildhall? Or do you walk past there shopping and never give it a thought?

I am lucky, I have been in there several times and had the pleasure in dressing the place with artificial flowers. The latest ones are an addition over the last year where we have replaced all the designs with fresh new ones.

Below are my flower designs but to see more of The Guildhall click  here to see The Lincolnites hidden gem look at The Guildhall and Stonebow.

This time last year I provided the flowers for Mayor’s Making at The Double Tree by Hilton. I dis so again this year, but more on that at a later date.

The council colours are cream and green and I am asked to stick to these colours where I can but I am given free reign on the flowers used as long as I keep to budget.

I provide 2 presentation bouquets to give to the Mayor’s and Sheriff’s ladies at the ceremony.

Laura’s wedding reception was at The White Heather at Caenby corner in Lincolnshire.

The gorgeous summer blooms were carried into the designs here.

In the entrance we placed a lovely tall bird cage stand which was to collect all the guest’s congratulation cards and decorated this with a spray of flowers. These included, roses, peony, eustoma, veronica, astilbe, sweet peas and lavender creating a scent filled entrance.

Laura decided on a gorgeous summer mix of flowers for her May wedding. I was given a brief on colours and certain flowers that must be included and the rest a mix left to me. We also decided on some scented flowers as it was a traditional church wedding and these would be teamed together with flowers given to the local church flower ladies to decorate with.

The bouquet was a hand tie that had a waterfall trailing effect when carried. It consisted of pale pink garden roses, astilbe, eustoma and peonies, lilac stocks, veronica and eustoma, ivory stocks and sweet peas, and lavender with thalaspi, fern and fountain grass foliage. All tied together with ivvory organza ribbon.
